Frikadeller is also known in Indonesian cuisine through Dutch cuisine influence and called perkedel, however the main ingredients are not solely meat, but for the most part mashed potato mixed (as much as 1:1 ratio) with ground meat or corned beef. The mixture is then shaped into flat round patties and then deep fried. Other than mashed potato, peeled corn or mashed tofu fritters are also common as perkedel ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 750 grams of fried potatoes, puree it!
  • 200 grams of cow meat corned
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 200 ml of cooking oil
  • 3 tablespoon of cooked onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

How to Make

  1. Fry sliced shallots until it turns a bit brown, then set aside to cool
  2. Saute sliced potatos until it turns soft, and then mash them in a bowl
  3. Mix together the mashed potato with fried shallots, salt, pepper, nutmeg powder, minced beef and egg yolks and shape into palm-sized, flat round patties.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan, enough to cover the patties. Dip patty into egg white and then cook the patties (in batches if necessary) over a medium heat for about 5min each side.
  5. Serve with warm steamed rice or with steamed vegetables

Note : The main ingredient can of corn fritters, tofu, meat, potatoes and many more ingredients to be delicious cakes.
